Savonlinna emergency services

At the Savonlinna emergency clinic patients are treated in order of need and urgency.

The emergency clinic uses a so-called fast track reception system called Fast Track, which is based on approximate appointment times. This means that patients are given the time they should arrive at the clinic, not the time they will see a doctor.

Please call the Emergency Helpline first at 116 117. During the phone call, your need for treatment will first be assessed by a nurse. The nurse will then give you instructions based on the assessment. The nurse will either:

• give you an approximate appointment time
• tell you go directly to the emergency clinic
• provide you with home-care instructions
• or advise you to contact another treatment unit

There is also an independent nurse’s consultation service operating at the emergency clinic. The service is operated by nurses that are entitled to prescribe medication.

Operative and conservative emergency services are also offered round the clock at the specialised medical care emergency clinic.
